Originally self-released for free on September 20th 2021, Yellow Barks Spider was recorded during the heatwave that summer, performed on found objects, prepared guitar, and DIY electronics in a feverish haze. The songs range from gentle electro-acoustic ambiences to roaring industrial noise, cut-up musique concrėte vocal manipulations to warped spaghetti-western psychedelia. The music of Yellow Barks Spider was inspired by the forthcoming novella of the same name.

The album was remastered and re-released on September 20th 2023, two years after its initial release. Care has been given to preserve the initial character of the recordings while providing greater fidelity, loudness and clarity.

Plasticine Cowboy is the solo project of Harman Burns. Born in the Saskatchewan prairies on Treaty 6 land, Harman is a trans sound artist, filmmaker and writer. She currently resides on the unceded ancestral territories of the Musqueam, Squamish and Tsleil-Waututh peoples.
